A Little Bit of This and That

Good Saturday Morning!!!!! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It is really hot here in Southern Kentucky.

On my side bar you can see the award I was honored with by my friend Marie at http://alittlebitofcountryontheshore.blogspot.com

This is called the ArteY Pico award. You may go to her blog to see the list of rules for this award. One of them is to chose 5 blogs you feel deserving of this award. I can pick lots more than 5. As all the blogs I visit are amazing!!! So if you read my blog please consider yourself chosen. Please take the award and put on your blog. Again thank-you Marie for being so kind as to choose me.

The other day when I listed the foods we had for our Anniversary dinner some of you e-mail and asked in the comments for the potato salad recipe. I cannot tell you exact Amounts as I do not measure any thing really. So I will do my best to guess.

Mary's Potato Salad

6 to 8 large Yukon Gold Potatoes washed, diced into cubes, cooked in salted water, drain and let cool.

3 hard boiled eggs finely diced

1 small onion finely chopped

1 jar pimento peppers

1 medium dill pickle chopped small

1/4 cup pickle juice

Real mayo to taste

Salt and Seasoned Pepper

Mix all with the potatoes and chill over night

I have a prayer request for a friend. She had cancer and was on the road to recovery. This week she became ill again . The cancer has spread to her brain. They were going to run more test to see if it has spread other places. This is a very dear sweet lady who has devoted her life to children. She taught in the public school systems for years only retiring last year. Then she was diagnosed with cancer. Please pray for her husband and son and Grandchildren.

May each of you have a week spilling over with God's Blessings!!!

Adding your friend to my prayer list even now...I know that it seems as if this would be a time to despair, but God is very able to deal with even this.

Thank you for the potato salad recipe. I'm ever and always on the search for new and better ones!

I will pray, Mary.

I just went to visit my friend today in the hospital. She has had intense health issues for years. She stopped breathing for quite some time on Saturday AM and has been on a respirator. Her brain was severely deprived. Tonight, they took her off of support and submitted her into God's hands.

I said my good-byes this afternoon. Of course, there was no response. She had an incredibly infectious laugh and such a generous heart.

Please pray for the family. I will probably be decorating for the lunch following her funeral.

Mary,

Congratulations on the award. You are very deserving.

It seems that cancer is running rampant these days. I will add your friend to my prayer list. My aunt is also fighting bone cancer, which has spread to her brain and liver.

Thanks for the potato salad recipe. It sounds delicious, as does the recipes in the post below.

Blessings,
Mary
