I will be away this week. I will return On Saturday afternoon.(July 18Th). I am going with our Youth leader to take a group of kids to camp. This is a first time experience for me. I have been getting ready all day and as I complete each task that is getting me closer to leaving I get more and more excited.
I ask that you keep us in prayer for safe travel to and from. Please pray that my health holds. Please pray for my husband as this is the first time I have ever been away. So it is a new experience for him as well.
Have a great week!!!

Baking
Thursday is my granddaughter's"s Mother"s birthday we are baking her a cake. This is always so much fun to bake with my grand. We have a blast.
We have just been hanging out watching T.V. and playing board games.
We are getting ready for VBS. This is my third year as director. It is a lot of hard work but the rewards are so awesome. I love to see all the little ones and see their happy smiles. They all want me to see what they have made. I love every second of it.
Went to Walmart today and they were putting out school supplies. Where is the summer going. I will turn around twice and it will be Christmas.

Pay it forward
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!!
Last week my friend Pea at http://peascorner.blogspot.com
had a pay it forward on her blog. I signed up for this. As this is the third time I have played I am putting a little twist on mine. I will be sending one gift sometime in the next year to the fifth person who leaves a comment to say they want to play. (note you must say you want to play in your comment ) Then this person will pay it forward to those who comment on their blog. You may choose to follow the rules and send a gift to the first three people who comment on your blog saying they want to play or you may want to send one gift as I have chosen to do. Just have fun for it and remember the important thing is to replay a kindness with a kindness and keep passing it on and on and on.

Happy Fourth of July!!!
We want to wish you a very Happy Fourth of July. We will be cooking on the grill. Of course there will be another watermelon!! LOL.
As I think upon the meaning of this day. I am so proud to say so many generations of my family have served in the armed forces to help keep our country Free.
I want to stop and offer a prayer today for all those in harms way to insure we continue to live in the land of the free. As we all know freedom is not free. I also have the families of these men and women in my thoughts and prayers today.
I hope each of you have an extra special day doing many fun things will family, friends and love ones.
If you see a member of the armed forces today please thank them for their service to our great country.

How Much Fun Can You Have For $3.99
As you can see Granny and Kiley had a lot of
fun. On a hot Summer day beneath our umbrella
tree we set at our picnic table and enjoyed our

Squash
A sweet friend gifted me with some squash last night. The kind I call summer squash. They are the yellow crooked neck kind.
These were straight out of their garden. So fresh and tender.
I cooked them for my dinner tonight. I sauteed the squash in olive oil with some green onions (she also gifted me with). Then I cooked some spaghetti noodles. I served the vegs over the spaghetti with a splash of fresh lemon juice. This was soooo good!!

Kat
Hi everyone!!
Yesterday I was asked to spell a rather large word for someone and I spelled it correctly. They said oh Mary you are so smart. I laughed out loud for ever. You see I remember when I first started this blog. It had been along time since I had done much spelling. I had gotten to the point where I could not spell cat.
Then I discovered spell check. Which was a big help. Then I went back to my early years of school and how I learned to sound the words out.
Once upon a time I was a really good speller and even won some spelling bees in school. So you can image my laughter about my spelling.
Have a great day!!!
