Bedtime

There you are Henry. We have the corn popped and ready to string. Henry our tree is so pretty and it smells so good. I have the ornaments I bought in town and this star we can put on top. Oh Mommy can I put the star on the tree. Of course you may. Victoria I will lift you up so you can reach the top Henry told the child. They worked with out stopping for the next couple of hours There was much laughter and lots of happiness while they were accomplishing the task at hand. The candles were placed on the tree last. After they were lit and the light from the lamp was dimmed they all stood back in awe of their beautiful Christmas tree.Victoria was so excited that she was jumping up and down. Her mother told her she could have some warm milk and cookies .Then she must get ready for bed. My I have a story please Mother and may Henry tuck me in. Yes we will read the story of the first Christmas from the bible then Henry and I will listen to your prayers. Henry sat back in his chair with his eyes closed taking all of this in. How he longed for a family he could call his own. Victoria said her prayers for everyone and then she reached up and gave Henry a big hug and thanked him again for the tree. as henry and Emily covered Victoria up their ahnds touched. But it was what their hearts were doing that was more important.
