The Next Day

( sidebar, sorry I have not been posting or visiting. I am having some health issues which are keeping me off the computer. )

" Child I am so glad you were here to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. I hope you got plenty to eat and slept nice and warm last evening. " I did thank-you so much madam, it was so good.

I cannot keep calling you Child, what is your name? My name is Katie Ann. Such a pretty name. Katie when you are ready you can share with me how you found your way to our home. Now run along and play with the children. That is enough for today.

Pa this child has been through a rough patch, she looks so scared when you try to talk with her about where she came from. We need to take it slow with her. By the way I thought you could take the kids and mark the tree for Christmas. A hike in the woods and up the mountain sounds like the very thing this child could use. It is settled then, I will pack you a lunch of sandwiches and and apple pie.

Mary, keeping your concerns tucked in my prayers. Don't worry about a thing except taking good care of yourself.

I'll be back to read more of Katie Ann's story.
