Updates and it is HOT!!

Good afternoon everyone!! Hope this post finds all well and happy. Hoping you are all having lots of fun this Summer.

It is way too hot here in Kentucky. Temps are in the upper 90's and the heat index is over 100. My plants cry for water. I water them and in no time they are as dry as the dessert. I spend so much time trying to keep them watered and happy.

On Tuesday we celebrated our 36th anniversary as I told you in my last post. We decided not to buy gifts for each other but to make each others favorite food instead. My husband made me BBQ with his homemade sauce and I baked him a Chocolate cream pie and we made shrimp scampi on the grill. So very yummy. We stayed home all day but had such a fun time.

Have been working on stuff for our VBS in July. Also making some 4th of July coloring books for the children I teach in Sunday school. I found some word search puzzles and pictures for them.

Since the holiday is on Sunday this year I hope I have some in class that day and thought this would be fun for them.

We plan on having the children and Grands over for the 4th. I think we will make home made banana ice-cream.

We went to the local produce stand toady and bought some home grown tomatoes, watermelon, peaches, cantaloupe and corn. As I said it is so hot here and we are mostly eating fruit and not even eating much of anything until late in the day.

I hope all of you are getting outside and having fun this Summer. Have a great week-end...hugs...m..

It's REALLY hot here also ---and NO rain. The rains went all around us today... Darn!!!!!

Have a great Summer.

It all sounds so wonderful! I can imagine it gets pretty hot in Kentucky, but sounds like you and the family have a great time in spite of the heat.:o)

You and your hubby are the sweetest and wish the two of you a Happy Anniversary! I like your idea of cooking for one another. I also like the sound of banana ice cream.:o)

Your anniversary sounded lovely. Sometimes it's so nice to just be together doing the simple things. Banana ice cream? Oh my! Sounds heavenly.

I just knew that you'd be getting prepared for VBS!

Hope you are staying cool Mary. It sounds very hot to me. We get some hot days here in Massachusetts, but not too many. Those tomatoes and watermelon sound pretty good to me. I love tomato sandwiches, this time of year is perfect for fresh produce and a glass of pink lemonade.

Enjoy your 4th celebration
