Norman Rockwell and Groundhogs

Sitting outside today I felt as though I was in a Norman Rockwell painting!!!

A wave of nostalgia came over me.

As I sat there children were in the streets. Some walking, others riding their bikes. In the air were the smells of grills and the aromas of the foods that were being cooked. It is the beginning of Summer in small town U. S. A. What a wonderful time of the year.

Oh about the ground hogs. As many of you know my husband likes to hunt. He is always telling our Granddaughter he is going to get a ground hog and cook it for her. Today we were having lunch in a restaurant. The ladies at another table were discussing the menu and different foods they liked. This one lady said she had eaten ground hog. I almost choked as I broke out laughing.

Hope you are having a great beginning to the Summer!!!

Sounds like a wonderful Memorial Day in your town, Mary.... Since your hubby likes to hunt, maybe he'll come to our house and hunt some of our many squirrels and chipmunks...ha ha

Betsy

Hi Mary,
I don't think I could eat a ground hog...I'm not much of a meat eater anyway...
Glad to hear all is well. It's just lovely weather here. God is good!
Warmly,
Deb :)

It did indeed sound like the description of a Norman Rockwell painting:-) Those are the kind of scenes that stay in our minds and that we cherish.

Oh dear, I don't think I could eat ground hog if I knew it was that! lol How funny to overhear that lady saying she had eaten some.

Have a wonderful week dear Mary. xoxo

Wonder if it tastes like chicken... If someone would nab the one who is pestering my garden, I'd be thrilled.

Lovely description of your hometown, Mary, I can visualize it!

I love when you write about what is around you, I can see every detail. See, your husband knows best!

It must be June, my peonies are out and I have brought out a stack of my favorite summer reads.

Summertime, yah...it's here.
