I was asked tonight What my idea of the most special CHRISTmas would be. Of course there is the First CHRISTmas the one when a sweet baby was born and gave us the best gift of all.
My most special family CHRISTmas would go something like this.

It would begin with all of my children and grandchildren being with my husband and myself in a log cabin in the mountains. We would have lots of firewood chopped, plenty of food in the pantry. There would be big fluffy quilts on each bed. Board games setting all around.

The kids and my husband would go into the woods and cut the biggest CHRISTmas tree they could find. While they were on their adventure the "girls" would have cookie dough ready for everyone to create their favorite cookies and in the oven they would go.

Next using an old fashion Popper for the fireplace pop corn would be popped. Can you image the aroma from the pine, spices from the baking and popcorn. OH MY!!!!!

As we string the popcorn. snow would start falling. As it progressed it would be piling up, snowing us in.

We would roast marshmallows over the fire, drink mugs of hot chocolate, telling and sharing memories of CHRISTmas past, dreams of what we want for the future. As the wee ones, filled with excitment of what gifts CHRISTmas morning would bring, fall asleep in our arms. To bed we would take them and place them under the warm, cozy quilts.

The shadows from the candles, the embers glowing from the hearth, would remind me of the star in the sky that promises a new beginning.

Me too! Dream on sistah! This sounds like that story I wrote once that I lost amongst the rubble around here...I called it Snuggledown. That was the name of the house.
