The Rest Of The Story

Good early Morning Everyone!!!! It is Friday and the start of the Labor Day weekend. Do you have special plans? Our Granddaughter is coming and we are so excited as it has been a while since we have seen her due to my husband being sick.

As I told you in the other post I had something to share with you.

When my husband was in the hospital God sent me an angel!!! He was a young man and his family. They were in the surgery waiting room with me as their Mother was having surgery the same day as my husband.

I had been waiting a very long time . I was told to wait there as they were taking my husband to his room and would pick me up on their way. I repeated the message to the caller and confirmed that I was not to go to the room my husband was assigned but was to stay in the waiting area. They said that is correct. It would only be a few minutes. After setting quietly for over an hour I went to the desk to ask the volunteer on duty if they could check and see if my husband had been taken to his room . I explained that I had been told to wait here but thought that must have been a mistake. He was so rude to me. He was loud and everyone could hear him. He basically told me to sit down and just wait. After waiting for over an hour. This young man (he was around 30 years old) tapped me on the shoulder and asked for my husband's room number. He said I am going up there now and see if they took him to the room and did not tell you. He came back and that is what they had done. He walked me to my husban's room and made sure we were both okay. I was in tears by this time. I had been sitting there since 8;oo a.m. and now it was after 12;00. It was 10:00 when they said they were coming to get me shortly and my husband had been in his room since 10:30. The hospital staff were so kind and were very upset this had happened. When the young man found my husband's nurse he told her what had happened and how rude this person (for no apparent reason) had been to me. My husband had been asking many times where I was. He was upset.

What this young man did may seem small to you but to me it was huge!!! It touched my heart in so many ways. I will never forget my angel who was wearing a Tennessee Titans Jersey.

All of the doctors, nurses and other people who were working with my husband were wonderful!! They went out of their way to make sure he had everything he needed and were also very kind to me. The level of care he received was excellent!! I am so sorry this one person had to act in an unkind manner. I hope he thinks about it and treats no one else this way.

I hope that one person is NOT still there working at the hospital. There's no excuse for that....

Glad you had an 'angel' helping you. There are so many good people in this world--and that obviously was one of them.

GOOD that he was weating a Titans jersey... ha

Hope things are still going well--and that you two enjoy your weekend and your granddaughter.
Hugs,
Betsy

So sorry that happened to you. "those" people forget that the person waiting is anxious about their loved one. So happy you had an angle there.
Warmly,
Deb :)

Mary, having spent time in a hospital recently with my father-in-law I know how helpful it is to have kind staff. Bless that young man for helping you! I hope your husband is doing well and you have enjoyed your granddaughter.
