A Springtime Blog-jacking!

Phyllis here (http://shabbyinthecity.blogspot.com ) surprising Mary with a post! I found this old card in a collection I have...who did I think of? Who would YOU think of LOL? I thought I'd search a poem to go with it and the following is what I found. I don't know a thing about the author...do you? And no, it is not Mary's birthday...at least I don't think so! We are anticipating a pile-up of snow tonight in Kentucky, when we are dreaming of warm weather and our buttercups are about to open! Things change quickly though and we are biding our time :)
Please enjoy:

The Field Daisy

I'm a pretty little thing,
Always coming with the spring;
In the meadows green I'm found,
Peeping just above the ground,
And my stalk is cover'd flat
With a white and yellow hat.
Little Mary, when you pass
Lightly o'er the tender grass,
Skip about, but do not tread
On my bright but lowly head,
For I always seem to say,
"Surely winter's gone away."

Ann Taylor (1782-1886)

Hi Mary, We're expecting some cold weather and snow tonight and tomorrow also--but now it looks like it's going to go south of us.. My friend in Atlanta is BEGGING for some snow this winter. SO--she might get some. Me??? I love snow---but I'm ready to see those DAISIES. I'm ready for spring.
Hugs,
Betsy

This card is just beautiful ! We went for a walk yesterday and we saw a few daisies :) Spring is coming :) We were very happy my daughter and me :) I love daisies very much because before the birth of my daughter in April eight years ago, i was watching thoses flowers thinking of the birth of my child, i was very excited, i knew that my life would change after, that flower is still very emotional for me :) Have a great day :) xo

Mary, you've got a sweet friend in Phyllis! That is a sweet vintage card. I love the details of the graphics and the "real" petals.

Mary,
I love the card, your poem and the music and your new blog header is lovely. We just got fifteen inches of snow yesterday and last night. At least it looks pretty, but I just can't wait for Spring.

I hope you get your package today in time for your friend's birthday. Have a beautiful Monday.
Blessings,
Karen
