My Sunday Blessing

I hope all of you had a very Blessed Sunday!!

It was cold and damp here today as We headed out for church. It was one of those days when I did not want to get out of bed and go to church. It would have been so easy to have done that. I stayed up until 1:00 this morning reading. So did I let the devil win??? No I did not. I drugged out of my nice warm comfortable bed and went to church.

Boy did God sock it to me!!!

I get to church and the children kept coming. Had a really nice size class.

Today after the main lesson we talked about Thanksgiving and what it meant to each of us. Then we went around the room and each child took turns telling what they were thankful for. We got the normal things, such as, their parents, family members, pets and some talked about the soldiers fighting for our country. ( to answer your question these are 1st through 3rd graders).

Then one child looked up at me and said Mrs. Mary I am thankful for you!

With tears in my eyes I told this child and all the others I was thankful for each of them and loved them.

So the devil did not win and God was Praised and I received a beyond words special gift and Blessing!!!!

Mary,

Children are precious. Aunt May's granddaughters are so sad to be losing their Grandma but knew exactly the right things to say to her. I am proud of both of these young women at 13 and 16 years of age.

Thanks so much for your prayers at this difficult time for our family. Please pray for Aunt May to be at comfortable and at peace until she passes.

Blessings,
Mary

Children are the blessing of the world...they gladden the heart and open our eyes to the possibilities that lie before us. Lovely heart felt post.

Oooh, Mary that was a very special blessing. We loved our "children" so much and when one of them tells us that they love us back, it is a very special blessing. One of mine thanked me for being her teacher this Sunday. I thought, "if only you knew how thankful, I am that YOU are in my class and seem to be learning and growing." They are all such blessings.

We always miss out on something special when we miss church even if we are sick and have to miss. I just don't want to miss one blessings.lol connie

That was a nice post, children usually mean what they say, unless they are taught by seeing others lie they are very truthful.

Awwww I can well imagine how touched you felt when that child said he/she was thankful for you. Makes everything worthwhile when a child believes in you, doesn't it! xoxo

I have found that when Satan's really working on us, it usually means something good is around the corner, or we're about to do some good for others. He hates that stuff.

I loved hearing about this experience. You were a blessing in the lives of those kids. Keep up the good work! You are awesome.
