Happy Weekend!!!

Good Saturday Morning to Everyone!!!! It is a bit rainy here in my neck of the woods.

We visited my husband's doctor yesterday and he removed the staples from my husband's leg. To say my husband was thrilled to have those out after two weeks is an understatement. The doctor assured us that my husband is making progress in his leg healing properly. It is going to be along process (has been since Feb. 14) and could take up to a year. There is light at the end of the tunnel and our Lord is standing there with the light in the palm of his hand. He will be returning to work on Monday. this will be light duty for awhile as his leg strengthens. The doctor feels this is the best type of therapy for him. he is not recommending he go to P.T. (even though our doctor owns the P.T.) He feels the everyday activities are his best bet for strengthening his leg.

We both want to thank-you again for all the prayers you have said for us. It means so much to know someone cares!!!

I would like to share another of my warm weather favorite recipes.

Cucumber Sandwiches or can be used as a dip

1 large cucumber minced finely

1 block of cream cheese at room temp.

1 package of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix

With hand mixer combine all ingredients until it is a spreadable consistency

If using for sandwiches I like to serve it on wheat bread. If using for a dip I use crackers, chips (pretty much what ever I think would taste good with it.)

Note if it is to thick I add either a couple spoon fulls of sour creme or mayo. ( or one spoon of each) again depends on personal taste.

I am wishing everyone a fantasic weekend. Please get out and do something you enjoy!!!!

My dear Mary, what wonderful news. I'm so glad your husbands leg is healing nicely. Going back to light duty at work will probably quicken the healing process.

Blessings to you both on this lovely weekend.

Good Evening Mary,
I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit in a while. After I had posted last Wednesday, I got busy and never got around to visit anyone. I did post this morning and even put up some pictures. I have been trying my best to get caught up with everyone today. "PRAISE GOD" the staples were able to come out of your hubby's leg. GOD will get him thru this and like you said, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'll be praying for him as he returns to work tomorrow. The Cucumber Sandwiches or Dip sounds so yummy. I have had a Cucumber Dip similar to this before and it's really good. I love Cucumbers but I have to watch how many I eat because they tend to bother me some. I love them, but they don't love me as some would say. LOL. It rained here 3 times on Friday and it's been raining some this afternoon as well. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

So glad that your husbands leg is healing properly. I will keep him in my prayers.

Your cucumber sandwich spread sounds lovely. I have printed it out to use this summer with our over abundance of cukes. That is if we ever get out in the garden.

God bless.

What good, good news. God is so faithful. By the way, Mary you can copy anything you want from my blogs, artwork, photographs anything!!! My daughter, loves cucumber sandwiches, but these sound so much nicer than the ones I make. I must try this. I thought of you the other day with your float recipe. You got my taste buds going. So, I ordered a cream soda and vanilla ice cream float while I was out. What a nice treat. Have a wonderful and blessed week. Karen

Mary, I am so happy that you are using the story of the Thankful coat. This story was originally called The Cloak of Praise. I taught my girls that the heart of being happy was being thankful for their blessings. At night when they would be whiney or complaining, I would ask them to say five things that they were thankful for, and before you knew it, it reminded them and then they were happy. At the end of the book there is a page for children to color their own thankful coat. I tell them to use Their Colors of Choice and their brushes of praise.

You made my day.

Blessings, Karen

P.S. don't forget copy whatever you would like. I have a web page of art that you are welcome to, it takes a bit to load because it is so full.

I'm so glad to hear that your husband's staples are out and that his leg is healing. It does take time for injuries to heal, so a year is a good time frame for him to be back to normal.

Thanks for commenting on my autism post.

Blessings,
Mary

Oh that is such good news! Can't believe that I missed it.

The sandwich filling recipe sounds delicous. If I buy a cucumber, I'll have everything that I need!
