Happiness

Happiness comes to us in so many forms. For me I am the happiest when I can give that gift to someone else. As this next week of Thanksgiving approaches I want to give this gift to someone else. For many years now at thanksgiving I had done something special for someone as a surprise. Some times I have been able to do it without them knowing that it was I who did it. It is so much more meaningful when you hear them telling about it and they did not know you did it for them. You can hear and really know the happiness you have brought to them. In the bible there is a verse that to paraphrase says do not tell your right hand what your left hand is doing. So this year I am planning to help brighten someone I know who lives alone and is a shut-in, with their favorite pie. Most of my gifts are homemade as they are created by my hands and are gifts of love from my heart. As the old saying says it is truly better to give than to recieve. Blessings from my home to yours!!!

What a wonderful idea. Since I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I'll have time to bake next week and share your idea of giving pies. Thank you so much!

That is very sweet Mary. We are giving four turkeys to a shelter here. It is our way of giving thanks for what we have.

Sometimes, when we can, it's fun to do the 12 days of Christmas for someone without them knowing who's leaving the gifts. Hmmm.. now you've got me thinking! I'll have to start praying about who God might want us to that for. Thanks! Blessings... Polly

My mom has in the past offered holiday meals to people who probably would have had none otherwise.

I'm so with you. I love doing nice things for people, especially anonymously. Your post has inspired me to get thinking about it for this holiday season. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you don't mind, but you've been tagged to share 8 random things about yourself :)
