Fall is in the Air
I woke this morning to a bright sunny day with cooler temperatures and a nice crispness in the air. It is a glorious welcomed day. You see we still have had temperatures in the upper 90's this week. I have decided to treat my family to a pot of potato soup. I began with 8 scrubed russet potatoes peeled and diced into medium size chunks. Then dice two stalks of celery and a medium size onion. Then I add two teaspoons of minced garlic and salt and pepper to taste. Cover all with chicken broth and cook until the vegetables are tender. Then I add 1 can of cheddar soup and enough milk to get you desired thickness. I chop green onions and and cooked crumbled bacon and put on the top of each serving. I make a skillet of cornbread and serve with it. My family can really make this stuff disappear.

I forgot to tell you I also grate cheddar cheese in each bowl. And yes I do bake my cornbread in my cast iron skillet. Enjoy!
Mary Isabella, sorry about the deletion. I made a boo-boo in my sentence that sound pretty goofy! :o) Anyway the soup sounds delicious, and with cornbread...wonderful!

Hi there,
I saw your comment and thought I'd pop in to let you know about my craft project. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased cardstock in autumnal colors and will be making a framed wreath. The hardest part won't be the drawing of the leaves but cutting them out. I fear it might be to intricate. I had the clerk running around the store looking for an exacto-knife. She was kind enough to how me how to work the tool. She also gave me a book with leaf patterns that I can trace. That was great customer service! I'll take a picture of the magazine version and when I'm done..and not too embarrassed..I'll post my finished product.
Have a great day,
Deanna :)
