CHOCOLATE MERINGUE PIE

This is suppose to be the hottest day of the year today in the south . So why not stay inside and bake a pie? This is for my friend over at shabby in the city. First you will need to bake a 9" pie shell. In a four quart dutch oven add one half cup of flour, one and one fourth cups of sugar and three tablespoons of cocoa . To this add three cups of milk mixing all well. Beat in three egg yolks saving the whites for the meringue. Add half a stick of butter adash of salt and cook until the mixture gets thick. Remove from the stove and add one teaspoon of really good vanilla. Spoon mixture into pieshell. Beat the egg whites until stiff andd a half cup of sugar . Beat again until stiff peaks form. Spoon on top of pie place under the boiler until just begins to brown. Let the pie cool and hope your family saves you a slice.

Well, Daisey, could you whip one of these up and deliver it to Murfreesboro, TN to your former pastor and wife??? Sounds just yummy and I'd love to see you, too!
I'll keep an eye out for your wonderful recipes and your poetry, too! Love you,
Sheila
